Ceilidh
The Oxford University Ceilidh Band, with a few guest musicians sitting in, will entertain us with a ceilidh at St. Barnabas Church Hall, following the conference dinner at Somerville. The ceilidh will start approx 9-9:30 pm and run to 11:30 PM. St. Barnabas is a pleasant 10 minute walk from Somerville. The band has an excellent caller, who is very adept at getting beginners going with the dances, so no previous experience is needed to enjoy the evening. Even if ceilidh dancing is not your cup of tea, the band is terrific to listen to.
Price of the conference dinner includes admission to the ceilidh, but it's expected that there will be enough space for participants who have not attended the dinner to come to the ceilidh, in exchange for a modest contribution towards the cost of the hall and band. We also hope to be able to offer a cash bar at the ceilidh.
