I have been a Departmental Lecturer in the Department of Physics, University of Oxford since 2007, and a College Lecturer at Balliol College since 1989. I am now semi-retired but still have both posts at reduced hours. Follow the links on left for current teaching material.

I have given the Data Analysis Lectures and the Normal Modes and Waves Lectures to the first year, the second year Further Quantum Mechanics lectures, and longer ago the short option S8 Covariant Electromagnetism, for second and third year.

I was for a number of years Chair of the Joint Standing Committee for Physics and Philosophy.
I also served as a Divisional representative on the University Committee for the History of Science.

I am the technical point of contact for the Oxford Traherne Digital Collator Image Capture Equipment (see the Oxford Traherne website for further details), the initial development of which was funded by a grant from the Balliol Interdisciplinary Institute.
